BANGKOK (Jan. 8, 2019) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is delighted to inform that popular beach resort destinations in the Gulf of Thailand and along the Andaman Coast, including Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Chumphon and Surat Thani as well as Ko Samui and Ko Phangan remain largely unaffected by the recent weather conditions due to the passage of Tropical Storm Pabuk.

With all transportation resuming normal operations, sun-seekers currently in Thailand or planning a trip are encouraged to continue their travel schedules and excursions as planned to the southern islands.

“We would like to express our deepest thanks to all friends of Thailand for their prayers, thoughts and understanding during the past few days as well as the heartwarming gestures by locals and tourists alike who joined in beach clean-up efforts following the storm. The skies are now clear and we are happy to report little damage to our beloved islands,” said Charinya Kiatlapnachai, Director of the Tourism of Authority of Thailand New York Office. “We want visitors to know the islands are safe and ready to welcome new visitors.”

Operations have returned to normal on the islands with TAT, the Royal Thai Government, many private organizations and the general public working on clean up efforts to assist those affected.
